Illustrative Quilting.

One Day Class.


For all levels of experience.

You will learn to draw on fabric and to draw with the sewing machine.

In this class you will trace the apple tree image onto fabric, color it and quilt it in this amazing way.   

With careful preparation you will achieve this effect.

I will guide you through the correct techniques of Drapplique… Drawing/applique.

You will learn a great deal about quilting and go home with a wonderful small quilt.  

Trust me, this is a technique you will use in many more of your quilts.

Requirements:-

I will ask students to bring 

1 piece of thin cotton batting 20”  X 12”

1 piece of good quality fabric 20” X 12”  (this if for the backing of your quilt)

20” X 12” Cream fabric  for the top of the quilt. You need to be able to see the pattern through the fabric because you are going to trace it so portable light box would be an advantage.

1 pkt 70/10 Schmetz microtex needles

1 reel smoke YLI monofilament thread.
1 reel of 50 weight cotton for the contour quilting

.5 black pigma pen 

20 small safety pins to pin the quilt

scissors  

note paper and pencil

rotary cutting mat no smaller than 18”

Sewing machines in good order including your instruction book.

Darning foot.

open toe applique foot for your machine, (contact me)

Tape to tape quilt to the table.

Kit consists of. $20 but if you have these pens let me know and I won't bring them.
